It was a great day to celebrate student innovation and highlight how schools are elevating learning opportunities! For today’s Ohio AI Impact Student Showcase, we joined Intel and the Ohio ESC Association to recognize learning communities and their commitment to innovation and excellence in AI education.

Today’s event featured outstanding student projects that demonstrated the transformative impact of AI in learning and problem solving. Students shared their work with educators, industry leaders, and community partners. We thank the students for sharing their projects and applaud the school leaders and educators for their dedication to advancing AI education in Ohio.

Healthy school lunches make a positive difference for students in and out of the classroom, with meals that provide fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and milk. Ohio schools are helping students meet nutritional needs to stay engaged in daily learning. Happy School Lunch Week!

Focusing on wellness and helping students learn their best! Director Stephen Dackin visited Kae Avenue Elementary in Whitehall City Schools this week for a special event to highlight the work of Governor Mike DeWine and the Columbus Crew to bring vision services to schools.

OhioSEE is Governor DeWine's eyesight program for children, which brings vision services directly to schools serving K-3 students. OhioSEE currently serves 247 school districts in a 15-county area as part of a pilot program.

We have amazing news about an Ohio school bus driver in the national spotlight! Congratulations to Kelli Goterba on being named this year’s National Special-Needs School Bus Driver of the Year. The honor recognizes school bus drivers who go above and beyond through special accomplishments and innovations that improve their work and make a difference for students.

Driving for the Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities and their Fairhaven School in Niles, Kelli Goterba is dedicated to understanding each student and their individual needs. She builds relationships with their families and school teams, and creates an environment where students feel supported.

Through building trust with students and strengthening her transportation team, Goterba exemplifies the impact special-needs drivers can make.
