Join us for Tales From the Crypt, where history, mystery, and a little Halloween magic come together for an unforgettable experience. And this year, there’s even more to enjoy!

✨ PLUS, we have a variety of NEW activities to keep you entertained before or after your tour. From eerie encounters to enchanting experiences, there’s plenty to discover beyond the crypt!

It takes visitors on a guided tour of the mausoleum to hear the tales as told by actors portraying the souls that have been sepulchered in the tomb.

Join The Ars Moriendi Society for a thoughtful and welcoming Death Cafe on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the beautiful Abbey Mausoleum & Gardens.

A Death Cafe is a welcoming gathering where people come together to discuss death, dying, mortality, and what it means to live a meaningful life. There is no agenda, presentation, or objective beyond open, respectful conversation in a safe, supportive environment.
Whether you are curious about end-of-life issues, want to explore your thoughts on mortality, or simply want to connect with others through meaningful dialogue, all are welcome.

Did you know an Ohioan patented tintype photography? "Hamilton L. Smith of Gambier, Ohio, patented it in 1856, and it quickly became a popular photographic format. Early tintypes were often presented in cases to resemble the more fragile daguerreotypes and ambrotypes. While daguerreotypes and ambrotypes needed case protection, tintypes were far more durable". www.ohiohistory.org
