***Public Service Announcement***
The City of Columbus would like to inform residents that Interstate Engineering will be conducting an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) this Wednesday (weather permitting).
The aerial survey is being completed to update and enhance the City's Geographical System (GIS) mapping to support the planning, design, and management of current and future public infrastructure projects.
Residents may notice a drone operating at various locations and altitudes throughout the city during normal daytime hours.

It's that time of year again folks. Your generous donations have made it possible for several local kids and families to have a better Christmas, so please help up keep this going. The event will be held 14 December this year so make sure you get your donations in beforehand. Please share and help spread the word!

SRO/K9 Zachary and Fela have already been in school mode the last few days, walking halls and checking things out to ensure your children's safety. With Columbus schools back in session tomorrow, here are a few other safety tips for all.
When walking - use sidewalks/crosswalk whenever possible. If sidewalks are not available, walk facing traffic. Always look both ways TWICE. Its best to make eye contact with drivers before crossing in the crosswalk. Try to not utilize headphones or phones. When riding bicycles always use helmets. If your child does not have one, contact SRO Zachary and we will get you one!!!!
When Driving. Use your seat belts and observe all traffic signs. Know when you are in the school zone. The speed limits are 15MPH all around each of the schools. Officers will be conducting extra patrols around these areas, so lets all do our part in making this a safe school year.

Columbus Police are asking your help. We are looking for any suspicious activity caught by your surveillance.
We are specifically looking during the late night hours of Saturday 15 August into early Sunday 16 August.
We are focusing primarily in the areas of E 4th Ave N between Quarry and 9th and along Pike and Pratten. If you check your cameras and notice something even if its not in that area, please contact SRO Zachary or email the footage to [email protected].

Shout out to Deputy SRO Cole Waltner. Not only does he work for an agency down the block from us, he also serves as a City Councilman. Congratulations on this achievement, what an honor it is to have you both with the local Sheriff's Office, but also a member of the City of Columbus. Congratulations brother!!!

Missing/Endangered Person

Officers with the Billings Police Department are currently looking for a missing 75 year old female by the name of Tobie Buchanan. Tobie has dementia and was last seen when she left her home near Rimrock and Zimmerman. Tobie left in a 2017 white Dodge Ram. Tobie was last seen wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and blue slip on shoes with white soles. If you see Tobie or her vehicle please contact dispatch. Thank you.

Wanted to take a minute and give a shout out to Jordan from Public Works.
Animal Control recieved a call today about a large bullsnake in a yard. This particular neighborhood has several small children and the reporting party was requesting assistance in removing the unwanted party.
Jordan quickly arrived on scene and was able to safely relocate the snake out of town. Thanks again!!!
