Creating meaningful forums where our members engage directly with public policymakers is a top priority, and today was a great example of that commitment in action.

We were honored to welcome Ohio Senate President Pro Tempore Bill Reineke for a candid, high-impact conversation with OLS members. Senator Reineke shared his enthusiasm for workforce development initiatives and his commitment to making hashtag an affordable, business-friendly state where innovation can thrive.

Our members spoke passionately about what’s at stake, and what’s possible:

🔹 Retaining life-changing IP in Ohio: Continued state investment is critical to ensuring that the breakthroughs being discovered here stay here.

🔹 Building the talent pipeline: Finding and developing the right workforce to fuel and sustain growth across biotech, pharma, medtech, and beyond.

🔹 Expanding access to capital: Partnering with the state to unlock the funding mechanisms that allow Ohio’s life sciences companies to scale.

We are grateful for Senator Reineke’s genuine interest in our industry and his recognition of the transformational impact life sciences has on patients and the Ohio economy. Conversations like this are how policy gets better, and how Ohio stays competitive.

More to come. 👏 👏 👏

✨ What is BioPathways? ✨

At its core, BioPathways is about students, helping educators spark curiosity, build confidence, and connect learners to life sciences opportunities that can shape their futures.

We do this by supporting educators with the tools, experiences, and industry connections they need to bring real-world biotech into the classroom.

Through BioPathways, we:

⏺️ Inspire Students by equipping classrooms with exclusive resources that connect learners to real, cutting-edge biotech career paths
⏺️ Foster Innovation with hands-on professional learning that bridges K–12 education with Ohio’s vibrant biotech ecosystem
⏺️ Support Educators with tools, connections, and experiences they can take directly back to their classrooms

The reflections in the graphic say it best, these are REAL quotes from teachers who’ve attended a BioPathways workshop and are already bringing new ideas, skills, and career awareness back to their students.
