The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) is implementing a permanent increase for mailing services and has an active temporary price change for shipping services.Upcoming Permanent Stamp Increase
Date: Takes effect July 12, 2026
Forever Stamp: Increases 4 cents, from $0.78 to $0.82
Details: The increase is part of a broader 4.8% adjustment on standard mailing services. Domestic postcards will rise from 61 cents to 65 cents.
Current Temporary Shipping Increase
Date: April 26, 2026 through January 17, 2027
Details: An 8% temporary increase applies to base postage on retail and commercial domestic competitive products, including Priority Mail Express, Priority Mail, USPS Ground Advantage, and Parcel Select. First-Class Mail is unaffected by this specific shipping adjustment.
