China called on the United States on Sunday to immediately release Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro after Washington carried out a strike on Caracas and captured the leader.

I don’t think most people grasp the scale of what just happened.
Venezuela holds more oil than Saudi Arabia. More than anyone.
Roughly 303 billion barrels sitting in the ground.
At current prices, that is trillions in raw energy value.
Not millions.
Not billions.
TRILLIONS.
Even if that oil never trades anywhere near full market value, the numbers still distort the global balance sheet in a way we almost never see in real time.
When control or influence over assets of this size shifts, markets don’t adjust politely.
They reprice.
Oil does not move in isolation.
Neither does inflation, currencies, or global risk.
Most people will notice this weeks from now, when prices move and headlines try to explain it retroactively.
By then, the real impact is already baked in.
Energy markets reopen Sunday night.
That is when reality starts showing up on the screen.
History rarely announces itself loudly in the moment.
But this is one of those moments you should be paying attention to.
