I was proud to join Rep. Tims in testifying before the House Education Committee on HB 545, the “School Busing Improvement Act.”
This bill addresses the urgent need to strengthen public school student transportation across our state, ensuring reliable funding and, most importantly, the safety of our kids getting to and from school.
I joined Mike Kallmeyer on Spectrum InFocus this past Sunday to talk about both the significance and importance of Black History Month. As we celebrate the 100th anniversary for the celebration of Black History, it’s an important time to reflect on its impact on not just my own life but the lives of millions of citizens across the US. Black history is American history.

Nearly 1.4 million across Ohio. 190,000 in Cuyahoga County. Seniors, children, and veterans rely on SNAP. They have been and still are hard working people who shouldn’t be punished and go hungry by this shutdown.

Today marks 24 years of remembrance for a day that changed our country. Close to 3,000 lives lost, countless families and friends personally affected, and a nation of people who know exactly where they were that day.
I was a student in DC that morning. My sister was in NYC.
“Never forget” isn’t just a phrase. It’s a reminder to hold tight to our values, justice, compassion, and unity.
