Did you know that washing your tennis shoes can prevent many infections and diseases, along with foot odor?
Tennis shoes can typically be washed in the washing machine on gentle cycle without any expected harm. When tennis shoes are washed regularly, infections such as athletes foot or Tinea pedis, Staphylococcus aureus and even Clostridioides difficile! YUCK!!!
If you can't remember when the last time was that you showed your sneakers a little love, maybe today is the day to toss them in the wash!

I would like to take a moment to "clear the air" on a concern that was brought forth to us.
It appears that a regional mastectomy bra fitter, recently has been telling patrons that our program at the Cherokee County Health Department "will mess up their insurance and to not take part in it". That is absolutely NOT true.
Our bras and prosthetics are provided for FREE to the patient, we never ask their insurance, bill their insurance or discuss it. Our bras and prosthetics were paid for through a grant through the Community Health Foundation of Southeast Kansas, titled the Rita Bicknell Women's Giving Circle.
If you are a woman who has went through a mastectomy and would like to view our selection of bras and prosthetics that we can provide for you through the grant, please stop by our office at 120 S. Delaware Ave. Columbus KS to set up a time for a fitting with Gayla. The entire appointment, one bra and one set of prosthetics is COMPLETELY FREE of charge!
If you would like to see what bras and prosthetics we carry, be sure to visit the American Breast Care Company for their various styles.
