Did you know....
In Ohio, when transferring a car title, only the seller needs to be present in front of a notary public to complete the "Ownership Assignment" section on the back of the title. The buyer is not required to be present for this initial notarization (top portion of back of title). HOWEVER, if the seller has a signed, notarized title from the seller, they can have the title transfer completed at the BMV, who will notarize the buyer's portion on the title (bottom portion of back of title) to complete the ownership transfer.
