Groveport Senior Center

Guess who has been tirelessly serving the City of Groveport for 7 years today? Congratulations Lisa Zurbriggen! You make us all better!

For the safety and continued well-being of the membership and staff, we have decided to postpone the opening of the Groveport Senior Center. The Governor of the State of Ohio and the Ohio Dept. of Health released an order outlining the guidelines that are mandatory to open Senior Centers and Adult Day Care Centers in the state. The order gives “permission” to open centers as early as Sept.21, 2020 IF they are able to meet these mandatory requirements. At this time, we are not able to meet the minimum requirements to open. We are maintaining close contact with the Ohio and Franklin County Departments of Health, the Ohio Department of Aging, City Administration and numerous other local centers in order to understand the requirements and to create a plan for re-opening that is best for the Groveport Senior Center. In the coming weeks, we hope to be able to offer some programming that you will be able to enjoy until we can begin to meet again at the Groveport Senior Center. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to do our utmost to keep everyone safe from Covid 19.

The Groveport Senior Center is currently closed per Governor DeWine's Order due to circumstances surrounding COVID-19. City staff participated in a regional call with Franklin County Public Health on 9/1/2020. Franklin County Public Health was not able to answer any questions that the City of Groveport and other cities posed regarding Governor DeWine's new order regarding opening of Adult Day Care Services and Senior Centers. Once the City receives answers to its questions, City staff will meet and determine if the Groveport Senior Center will re-open. No timetable has been set.. We thank you for your patience.

Due to circumstances surrounding the CORONAVIRUS, the Groveport Recreation/Senior Center will be CLOSED indefinitely beginning at 12:00pm on March 16,2020.
All Recreation Department and Senior Center programming is also indefinitely suspended at this time.
