Over the past three weeks we toured 823 BCSC 3rd Graders through the airport!

They toured the Atterbury-Bakalar Air Museum, visited the C119, toured through Columbus Propeller, Inc Makerspace Wood/Metal/3D Printing shops. They made sublimation backpacks imprinted with the logo we designed especially for the tour. The kids learned about the laser engraver and also took home a custom-printed wooden keychain. They had the opportunity to see a glider up close and Airport staff helped them assemble paper gliders to experiment with the difference in flight between a penny and a nickel as weight in the nose! From what we hear, everyone had a great time!

Join us in celebrating the accomplishments and a hearty Congratulations to our Assistant Airport Manager, Allison Williams.

Today is Allison's last day at the Columbus Municipal Airport as she transitions to a new role as Airport Manager I in San Bernadino County, California.

"We are all so proud of Allison. She came in as an intern for the Maintenance Department in 2019 and has continued to grow into multiple positions including Administrative Intern, Operations and Compliance Specialist, and as Assistant Airport Manager for the last three years. She started the Women in Aviation chapter here in Columbus, advanced innovation with AI airfield tracking software, and, most importantly, has brought the aviation community together in multiple ways. She embodies the passion of aviation and The Columbus Way which she will take with her in her aviation journey", says Airport Director Brian Payne

ArtPort in the Airport is looking for Artists! Our next show is ALCHEMY ... Celebrating the Creative Process.

Our Open Call is for local artists, with priority for emerging artists. We would like to bring more 2D/3D art into the gallery. We use a rod hanging system so all art needs to be able to be hung on small or wide hooks.

All art hung in this show can be sold with no commission charged!

If you would like to be considered as an artist in our Alchemy show, please email Aeriana at [email protected].
