This month's Behind the Badge is Lieutenant Chuck Gierach, this year's Supervisor of the Year. One thing Lt. Gierach said he enjoys about OSUPD is the mini-reboot each school year with a new group of first-year students that come in.

Today we honor all of the law enforcement men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our communities for National Peace Officer Memorial Day.

We remember Officer Michael Blankenship who is honored at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in DC.

Yesterday, OSUPD held our Peace Officers Memorial Ceremony to honor the law enforcement who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

This is a test of the COLUMBUS campus Buckeye Alert system. For more information on campus safety, go to http://emergency.osu.edu.

A Buckeye Alert system test will occur today, May 12. Students, faculty and staff on all Ohio State campuses will receive a text message that will be clearly identified as a test.

The Ohio State University Police Division (OSUPD) joined law enforcement agencies across the Buckeye State on May 6, 2026, in the annual Light Ohio Blue Memorial Caravan.
