It’s Spooky Season, and just look what you can get at the Book Barn!! These super cute water jug skeletons are made by a local Comfort resident, and all proceeds go to the Friends of Comfort Public Library. They are $15 each, and quantities are limited. So hurry by the Book Barn on Saturday to get yours!!

A HUGE Thank You to All of You that made our 2026 Taste of Comfort so Great!!

From everyone who bought a ticket, to all our generous sponsors, to the beautiful ladies of the Comfort Court, to everyone who donated to the Silent Auction, and of course to all the food and beverage purveyors who were represented, we thank you ALL for being part of this year's gala fundraiser. Of course we can't leave out all the "volunteers" who worked diligently to make the night so special (that means you, Trustees!) or the officers who kept us safe! We'd like to specifically call out the representatives from the Comfort area business who made the Taste, well, the TASTE, including Alamo Meat Market, Altstadt Brewery, Bending Branch and Ursa W**eries, Bite-It Eatery, BRene's Kitchen, Comfort Infusions, High's Cafe, La Madre Comida, Los Dos Amigos, Los Jarros, Silver Creek W**ery, Singing Water Vineyards, Skyline Gelato, and Three Paths Distillery. We tried all your wares and were delighted with what we found. We are grateful to all of you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you at the Library in the coming year!

LESS THAN TWO HOURS TO GET YOUR $50 TICKETS TO TASTE OF COMFORT!!

Everything is set up and ready for YOU tonight out at Hermann Sons Hilltop Camp. The Board of Trustees has been working hard to make sure you get your money's worth out of this year's Taste of Comfort! The "Taste" is the key: there will be lots of food purveyors there, serving you everything from sweets to savories, as well as your favorite w**e, b**r and spirits vendors. And as your probably know. all these tasties come with the price of your ticket. So come over to the Library before 1:00 today to get YOURS; tickets are $50 at the Library; if you procrastinate they will be $60 at the door. (And even at the last minute you can scan the QR code below). Any way you do it, be sure and get your ticket NOW--it's quite a bargain for all you'll get!

And while you're there, be sure to look over the Silent Auction table. You're sure to find something to catch your eye: from paintings to succulents to wearables to fabulous trips and more, there will be something you just can't live without.

And don't forget to try your luck at "ringing" a new favorite w**e! We'll have a "W**e Ring Toss" set up, and for a small fee you can try YOUR chance at snagging a valuable (and delicious) bottle of w**e you may have never tried before!

So come out at 5:00 this evening for all the fun! You don't want to miss this one--we'll see you there!!

We’re all set up for tomorrow night’s Taste of Comfort, the annual fundraiser for Comfort Public Library! The tables are ready for you to sit and indulge to your heart’s delight; ALL the Silent Auction items are on display and waiting for you to bid, bid, bid; and the w**e bottles are arranged for you “ring a winner”! There are still tickets for sale for $50 at the Library until noon tomorrow; after that they will be $60 at Hermann Sons. Don’t miss out on this Comfort tradition!!

In less than two weeks, Comfort Public Library's annual fundraiser--the Taste of Comfort--will be here.

In less than two weeks, Comfort Public Library's annual fundraiser--the Taste of Comfort--will be here. Since we're not having a Live Auction this year, the 2026 Silent Auction will be really special! In addition to some fabulous baskets, collectibles, and other treasures, we have FIVE great trips to bid on! Here are the vacations we have to bid on:

Can you believe the Taste of Comfort is only two weeks from today? We're busy at the Library getting things ready for this exciting evening! Lots of your favorite food and beverage purveyors will be there, so you can look forward to a delicious evening! In addition, with your help we will have a multitude of Silent Auction items to bid on (including FIVE trips!), and you can show off your carnival skills by "ringing" a great bottle (worth $25 or more!) at the W**e Ring Toss! Come grab your ticket at the Library during normal business hours, or you can buy from Eventbrite (use the QR code above) for a small convenience fee. If you're a "last minute" type of person, tickets will also be available at the event for an additional $10. No matter how you get your ticket, come join us for a fun and festive evening while supporting YOUR Comfort Public Library!!

NEW PROGRAMS FOR YOUNGSTERS AT COMFORT PUBLIC LIBRARY!

We’re starting a brand-new program for elementary-aged kids here at the Library! Called “Discovery Fridays”, we’ll delve into new, engaging subjects that you might like but that you probably won’t study in class. We’ll do some art, discuss interesting current events, and we’ll have a lot of vocabulary thrown in throughout! Discovery Fridays will be one Friday a month at 2:30 pm, and the first one will be on Friday, September 18.

In addition, we’re going to re-discover the Science Saturday program, by playing with, well, Science!! Science is a lot of fun—not only will we study the methods and ideas behind scientific testing and observations, but we’ll do plenty of hands-on experiments as well! Science Saturdays will happen one Saturday a month (usually a different week from Discovery Friday) at 10:30 am.

And finally, some of the area homeschool moms have requested that we start a Library Book Club for Homeschoolers. It will be led by Kendall County AgriLife Extension Agent Paige Bielamowicz, and we’ll meet the first Thursday of the month at 2:30 pm. We’ll start with books from the Hank the Cow Dog series.

We hope that Comfort-area students will enjoy these newly refurbished programs, designed just for kindergarten through sixth grade students. Come to the Library, where learning is FUN!!
