🚒🔥 A SMALL DEVICE THAT CAN PREVENT A BIG FIRE! 🔥🚒

The Commerce Fire Department wants to share a simple piece of technology that could help prevent a devastating kitchen fire!

👀 Ever heard of a StoveTop FireStop?

These small, automatic fire suppression devices mount underneath your range hood or above your stove and are designed to activate when flames from a cooking fire reach them.

🔥 Here’s how they work:

✅ No batteries or electricity required!

✅ Automatically activates when direct flames reach the device.

✅ Releases a fire-suppressing powder onto the stovetop to help extinguish a cooking fire.

✅ Works even if nobody is standing at the stove!

✅ Can help stop a small stovetop fire before it spreads to cabinets and the rest of your home.

🏠 Why does this matter?

Cooking fires are one of the leading causes of residential fires. It only takes a few moments of distraction for a pan of grease or food to catch fire.

A device like this could be the difference between a small mess on your stove and losing your home.

⚠️ Remember: These devices are an added layer of protection, NOT a replacement for staying in the kitchen while cooking, working smoke alarms, or having a fire extinguisher available.

Our goal at Commerce Fire Department isn’t just to respond to fires — it’s to help prevent them from happening in the first place!

🔥 A little prevention today could save your home tomorrow

🐅 COMMERCE IS IN IT TO WIN IT! 🏈

Commerce High School has officially entered the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights competition, and we're ready to show the country what Friday nights in Commerce, Oklahoma are all about!

For generations, Friday nights have been about more than football in Commerce. They're about our students, our families, our alumni and a community that comes together to support the Commerce Tigers. 💙🤍

Now we have an incredible opportunity. One school will receive $1 MILLION toward a transformational home football field upgrade—an investment that could make a lasting impact on our students, our athletic programs and our entire community.

Tiger Nation, we need you!

Help us show T-Mobile the pride, tradition and community behind Commerce Public Schools. Share our posts, post your favorite Tiger photos and memories, and help us tell the story of what makes our small town so special.

We're going to be showing off our players, cheerleaders, band, students, alumni, families, fans and community—because that's what Friday nights in Commerce are all about.

Our Town. Our Team. Our Tigers. 🐅

Let's bring Friday Night 5G Lights to COMMERCE!

A huge thank you to our wonderful middle school students. We greatly appreciate the cards and kind words!

🚒 A special surprise for our Commerce students! 🚒

After learning about heroes, our students got a firsthand visit from some of our community’s own heroes! The Commerce Fire Department surprised students with lights, sirens, and some BIG fire trucks! 🚨🚒

In return, our students presented the firefighters with handmade “Thank You for Being Heroes” cards to show how much we appreciate everything they do for our community. 💙

A huge THANK YOU to the Commerce Fire Department for taking the time to visit our students and for serving and protecting our community every day!

🐯💙 One Team. One Family. One Commerce.

Apparently, SUMMER HAS DECLINED TO LEAVE. 😑☀️

🌡️ Another day.
🥵 Another Heat Advisory.
🔥 Another round of “Why is it this hot in SEPTEMBER?!”

At this point, we’re pretty sure Oklahoma accidentally selected “PREHEAT” instead of “Fall.”

Heat Advisory today from Noon–7 PM.

💧 Drink plenty of water
🌳 Take breaks in the shade/AC
🐶 Keep an eye on your pets
👴 Check on elderly neighbors
🚗 NEVER leave kids or pets in a vehicle

And remember…

🍂 Fall is coming.

We think.

🔥 BURN BAN EXTENDED — OTTAWA COUNTY, OKLAHOMA 🔥

The Ottawa County Burn Ban has been EXTENDED until at least September 28th.

🚫 Outdoor burning remains prohibited.

Even though we may see cooler temperatures and received a little rain here and there, conditions remain dry enough that fires can start quickly and spread rapidly.

Please continue to do your part:
🔥 No brush or trash burning
🔥 No burn piles
🔥 Avoid anything that could create sparks near dry grass or vegetation
🚒 Report any fires immediately by calling 911 or the non emergency number at (918)542-5585

We know everyone is ready for the burn ban to be over, but until Mother Nature gives us enough rain, the ban stays in place.

Please share and help us get the word out.
