Before they were leading our Tigers, they were students themselves! 🐯📸🧡

For Principal Appreciation Month, we’re throwing it back to when our principals were the same age as the students they lead today! 🥹

We're still riding the high from Saturday's incredible performance by our Roaring Tiger Band! 🎺🥁

These photos capture just a few moments from a performance that had us bursting with Tiger pride! The energy, the precision, the passion... our musicians left it all on the field at Mesquite Memorial Stadium!

And the best part? We're not done yet! 🤩

🥔 YOU SAY POTATO, WE SAY PAR-TAY! 🎉

CES has cooked up a new attendance incentive, and it’s already a SMASHING success!

Classes are working together to build their very own Mr. and Mrs. Potato Heads by showing up to school. Once they’re complete, it’s time for a POTATO CHIP PARTY! 🥔

Today, Rita Williams’ first grade class earned their reward, and Principal Wright and Assistant Principal Mathis went full potato mode to deliver the salty snacks! 😂🍟

The students were absolutely CHIPPER, and we think our administrators deserve a round of a-PEEL-ause! 👏🥔

Good attendance is kind of a BIG DILL… especially when chips are involved! 🧡🖤

Commerce ISD is fortunate to have so many incredible principals, administrators, and directors leading our teachers and staff each day. But there's one person tasked with leading the ENTIRE Tiger family!

Today, we're celebrating Mr. Steve Drummond, Superintendent of Commerce ISD, for his leadership, dedication, and commitment to inspiring excellence across our district.

Leading a school district is no small job, and we appreciate the heart and hard work he puts into making Commerce ISD a great place to learn, work, and grow.

Happy Boss's Day, Mr. Drummond! Thank you for leading the ROAR! 🧡🐯🖤

We had a little unfinished Hall of Honor business to take care of this week, and it was a special one!

Shawn Droddy, CHS Class of 2002, returned to Commerce to receive his 2026 Hall of Honor plaque and take a trip down memory lane.

Shawn was the quarterback of our 2001 State Championship Football Team and went on to become the first Commerce ISD graduate to serve as a Texas Ranger! 🏆

Although the campus where he began his high school career is no longer standing, he enjoyed visiting the current CHS building, where he was part of just the SECOND graduating class!

One of our favorite moments? Watching Shawn sit down with current Tiger Football quarterback Aiden Brown for a little QB-to-QB conversation about football, life, and plans beyond high school. 🏈

From leading the Tigers on the field to serving the people of Texas, Shawn continues to make his hometown proud.

Thank you, Mr. Droddy, for your service, for coming home to visit, and for showing our current Tigers what's possible when they dream BIG! 🧡🖤

Once a Tiger, ALWAYS a Tiger! 🐅

Our Tiger and Lady Tiger Cross Country teams hit the course yesterday for the District Meet, and we've got plenty to celebrate!

🧡 Our Lady Tigers built a team this year and represented Commerce well! We're so proud of the growth of our girls cross country program under Coach Sam Hammontree.

🏆 Our Varsity Boys, led by Coach Danny Granberry, finished 2nd in DISTRICT, earning their ticket to the Regional Meet!

And check out these individual medalists! 🏅

🥈 Brit Smith - 2nd Place
🏅 Jacob Shipman - 5th Place
🏅 Nathan Eborn - 6th Place

Our JV boys showed up strong, too, with Gabe Brown and Chris Velasquez both bringing home medals!

📅 NEXT STOP: REGIONALS!
Tuesday, October 27 at 12:30 PM

Congratulations to ALL of our runners and coaches! The miles, hard work, and determination are paying off!

KEEP RUNNING, TIGERS! 🐯💪

🐯🧡 BEHIND EVERY GREAT TIGER TEAM IS SOMEONE HELPING PUT IT TOGETHER!

Today is Texas Education Human Resources Day, proclaimed by Governor Greg Abbott to recognize the hardworking HR professionals who help keep our schools running strong!

From recruiting and hiring great employees to supporting staff and helping create a positive work environment, our HR team works behind the scenes to make sure Commerce ISD has the people and support needed to serve our Tigers.

A special THANK YOU to our Human Resources team for taking care of the people who take care of our students!

Help us show them some love today! 🐯👏
