We love every opportunity we get to share about Elder Orphan Care, so when Timothy Thornton, president of the Harrisburg Rotary Club asked Kim to speak, she couldn't say "yes" fast enough! Not only did she receive a warm welcome, the club presented her with several beautiful prayer shawls for EOC use, thanks to their partnership with Hickory Grove Baptist Prayer Shawl Ministry.”

As a reminder, our meeting today has been moved to tomorrow evening as a rotary club social event with the Concord Rotary club.

The Concord Rotary Club would like to extend a warm invitation to join us at our social on Wednesday May 29th at The Local Bottle Shop in Concord from 5pm-7pm!

This is a great opportunity for your club to get to know fellow Rotarians in our area. Tell a joke or two, have a beverage and unwind after a long day at work.

Today is the day for the 43rd Annual Can-A-Thon!! Come see the Southwest Cabarrus Rotary Club and Boy Scout Troop 173 at the Harris Teeter at Caldwell Crossing on Hwy 49 in Harrisburg! We are collecting non-perishables to stock the Salvation Army Food Pantry for the winter months.

We will be there from 9-5 today and 11 to 5 tomorrow! If you can’t make it to us, join the Concord and Kannapolis Rotary Club at any Harris Teeter in Cabarrus County this weekend.

This Poem was written many years ago by our very own Dana Ritchie. She’s our very own cheerleader, local advocate and rock! We have lost a few members, gained a few new members and kept a number of members with the same old heart and soul!

There is a little Rotary Club
They meet weekly at Embassy Suites
They are called Southwest Cabarrus
And they really can’t be beat.
Ryan Thrower is an awesome President
With Kristel Swayze waiting in the wings
Though membership is not too large
This club truly does great things.
Benita Conrad keeps the money
Guy forrest keeps the books
If the meetings are not done on time
Darrell Thomas gives us the looks!
Keith Barbee works to raise money
And most times he’s as nice as can be
The only thing that really upsets him
Is the NC DOT!
Marion Sandlin is past president
Wired us as hard as a Board …
But for all our efforts
The club received several annual awards!
Joe Boykin is the club “charmer”
He’s as handsome as can be
Brent Rockett keeps us healthy
He keeps us running from Sea to Shining Sea!
Dick Lewis is one of my favorites
A committed Rotarian is He
A real Asset to our “rag tag” group
“Serving Others,” He says that [is] the Key.
Dale Gentle is a Charter Member
Same as Bill Milligan and I
Dale travels to many magnificent places
Even met Jimmy Carter, My oh My!
Erica, Jennifer and Nancy are lovely lady members
We’re so glad to have them in our club.
And you know we have two Randys -
Randy Brantley and Randy Little
Rub-a-Dub Dub Dub!
I’m very proud to be a Rotarian
And especially to be in this Troup.
Y’all be sure and invite more to join
So we can really grow our group,
That’s all I have to offer
