💚 Celebrating Head Start Awareness Month! 💚

We were thrilled to welcome Board of Supervisor John Gioia to our Balboa Center for a special visit with our amazing kiddos! Seeing our little learners explore, create, and learn through play is a beautiful reminder of the impact Head Start has on children and families in our community.

What better way to honor Head Start Awareness Month than by celebrating the joy, growth, and endless possibilities that Head Start brings to our youngest learners every day! 🌟

Thank you, Supervisor Gioia, for visiting our Balboa Center and helping us shine a light on the importance of early childhood education! 💚

🌀What better way to kick off Head Start Awareness Month than with advocacy!🌀

This week, members of our CSB Head Start team joined Head Start leaders from across the country in Washington, D.C. for the National Head Start Association’s Fall Leadership Institute, bringing the voices of our children, families, staff, and communities to Capitol Hill.

Representing CSB were Cathy Lucero, Assistant Director; Monica De Vera, Workforce Development Analyst; and Kim Clay, QMU Manager.

As we begin Head Start Awareness Month, we’re proud to celebrate Head Start’s impact and advocate for its continued strength and future💜

Head Start works. Head Start matters.

Thank you Rep. Mark DeSaulnier for your support!

CSB staff including teachers, supervisors, and coaches from our sites across Ambrose, GMC, GMIII, Lavonia Allen, and Riverview had a great time attending the 25th Annual Young Children’s Issues Forum this past Saturday! ☺️

We connected with fellow educators, advocates, and community partners to share ideas and explore ways to support young children, families, and the early learning community. From childcare affordability to quality early learning and a strong early education workforce, there was plenty to talk about ~ and lots of inspiration to take home! 💙💛💚

✨ Ending the week on a positive note! ✨

Today in GMI III Room 4, our little learners celebrated the power of positive affirmations! 💛

From “I am kind” to “I am brave” and “I am enough,” our children proudly shared words that remind them of their strength, confidence, and worth. 🌟

We love seeing those little voices grow louder and those beautiful hearts grow stronger! 💕

Every day is a new opportunity to believe in ourselves, encourage one another, and shine! 🌈

Planting seeds for a new season! 🌱🍂

With autumn arriving next week, our little gardeners are getting their hands in the soil and learning that great things take time, care, and patience. At Head Start, we nurture more than gardens ~ we nurture curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning. 🌻💚

Miss Veronica in room 2 at GMIII received a lovely visit from one of her students, Vicente, 13 years later to say thank you for instilling the love for learning💖

Vicente read books to the children that Miss Veronica gave him. He is also now off to attend a local UC University.

We are so thankful for you Veronica, you make a difference every day!
And thank you Vicente for coming to visit, what a surprise! ☺️💙💛

🥑🌶️🥭 Cooking with young children is about so much more than making a tasty snack. It’s hands-on fun and learning for everyone! 🥭🌶️🥑

Balboa and Bayo Vista families have recently been participating in the virtual 18 reasons cooking project. The mango salsa seems to be a fan favorite so far!
