Do you love to celebrate the season with frightening stories? Then Librarian Danielle has created this Scary Good Reads Book Display to give you a hand! She says, "Horror novels have been having a bit of a moment lately, so I've pulled together a selection of recent reads from across many horror subgenres for October. There's vampires and creepy cults and haunted houses and so much more featured on this display. You're sure to find something that will give you a good scare!"

New to embroidery? Don't be intimidated - this project can be easily modified to fit a wide range of experience, and we'll also be hosting a family-friendly felt leaf project for any makers who'd like to skip the sewing.

The Concord Festival of Authors keeps going strong as we welcome back Steve Edwards, Concord Free Public Library's 2025 Writer-In-Residence.

He will discuss his latest book, "Rare Good: Essays on Art, Autism, and Astonishment." Edwards was diagnosed with autism in his mid-thirties, altering his relationship to writing and family. He discovered what he had always known but never said: his compulsion to create was more than just a pursuit of self-expression.
