This funding will support regional childcare back-office infrastructure, providing centralized fiscal and operational management that helps expand parental workforce participation and job retention.

By strengthening the infrastructure behind childcare providers, this project addresses one of New Hampshire’s critical workforce challenges – helping parents stay I the workforce, supporting businesses, and contributing to community growth.

As communities consider future NBRC funding opportunities, now is a great time to identify local projects that can turn community assets into opportunities for workforce development and economic growth. To learn more about NBRC funding, visit https://www.nheconomy.com/nbrc.

BEA's Office of Outdoor Recreation Industry Development participated in the Connecticut River Watershed Partnership (CRWP) meeting last week, bringing together partners committed to protecting, enhancing, and connecting communities throughout the watershed.

The meeting provided a valuable opportunity to share successes, discuss challenges, and explore opportunities for collaboration across sectors and organizations. Together, partners focused on strengthening relationships, identifying watershed-scale projects and initiatives, and exploring how outdoor recreation can complement and enhance the important work happening throughout the region.

Outdoor recreation plays a vital role in connecting people to our natural resources, supporting local economies, and fostering a shared sense of place.

We look forward to building on these conversations and working alongside our partners to create a more connected, vibrant, and resilient resource development for the state. Appalachian Mountain Club

Congratulations to Collaborative Solid Waste Strategies NH on Spring 2026 USDA Rural Development Grant to conduct a feasibility study for an Advanced Materials Recovery Facility in Claremont’s Wheelabrator corridor.

Using the STOMP framework, the study will assess site options, regional tonnage and processing capacity, material off takers, and financial modeling to determine viability for a facility capable of substantial throughout, job creation, and revenue from recovered materials. It will also explore an eco-industrial approach that connects advanced materials recovery with manufacturing.

Community infrastructure can create new economic opportunities while addressing critical regional challenges. By exploring innovative approaches to waste management, this project could help reduce costs, create jobs, support local industry, and strengthen the region’s economic resilience.

BEA is proud to congratulate New Hampshire Regional Planning Commission on receiving a Spring 2026 USDA Rural Development Grant to conduct Phase 3 investigations into a potential third well for the Epsom Village Water District. This project will build on work completed since 2020 and help identify a preferred production site to expand water capacity and support planned growth along Routes 202/4 and 28.

Reliable water infrastructure is a foundation for both community and economic development. Ensuring adequate water capacity helps communities accommodate growth, support businesses, and create the infrastructure needed for future investment.

BEA is proud to congratulate the Milan-Dummer Ambulance Service on receiving a Spring 2026 Catalyst Award from Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC). This grant will support the expansion of an EMS Career Pipeline by transforming the decommissioned Berlin National Guard Armory into a centralized training hub.

By providing training for unemployed and under-employed residents pursuing high-demand careers in emergency medicine, this project demonstrates how community development can directly support economic development. Reinvesting in an existing community asset will strengthen the local workforce, expand career opportunities, and help address critical workforce needs across the region.

As communities consider future NBRC funding opportunities, now is a great time to identify local projects that can turn community assets into opportunities for workforce development and economic growth. To learn more about NBRC funding, visit https://www.nheconomy.com/nbrc.
