Kansas farmers and ranchers have a new opportunity to access financial and technical assistance for conservation practices through USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).
While applications are accepted year-round, Kansas producers should apply by November 20, 2026, to be considered for fiscal year 2027 funding. Assistance is available through programs including the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP), Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP), and Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP).
These voluntary programs can help producers address priorities such as soil health, water quality, erosion, wildlife habitat, land protection, and the long-term productivity of their operations. CSP and EQIP also use NRCS’s Act Now process, which can allow qualifying applications to be approved more quickly.
Producers interested in available conservation opportunities are encouraged to contact their local NRCS office. Additional information about state and federal technical and financial assistance is available at kacd.net/assistance.
