Congratulations to Kris Price for being named employee of the month for Cloud County. Kris started with the County in 2015 as the Office Clerk at the Highway Department.

Nominations must be made by a person(s) by name (not a group). The Employee of the Year for 2026 will be announced at the Employee meeting on January 5th.

Each month the Commissioners will be choosing an employee of the month. Employees of the month will then be eligible for employee of the year.

Nominations:
Anyone can nominate an employee (including Department heads and the public) unless they are related to each other.
Nominations are due by the 3rd Monday of the month prior to the adjournment of Commissioners' meeting.
4 copies of the nomination form should be submitted.
The 1st Monday of the month the employee that was selected will be recognized in the Commissioners' meeting.
The employee will receive $100 in Chamber bucks and a certificate. (Employees at the Courthouse will have a special parking spot for the month.)
Applications will remain as selections for the remaining of the year.
Employees must be with the County for at least one year.
Nomination forms are available in the Clerk's office or from Department heads.
Factors that will be considered: taxes up to date, work ethic, and how they represent the County in the Community.
An employee of the year will be selected from the employees who win during the year; that employee will receive an additional $200 in Chamber bucks

The older you get the better chance you forget your birthday. I guess that's what happened because we turned 160 on Sunday, September 6th.

The county was legally organized on September 6, 1866.

Congratulations to Brandon Brundridge for being named Employee of the Month for Cloud County. Brandon started with the County as an Equipment Operator at the Highway Department in 2021, served as a Mechanic and was promoted to Shop Foreman in 2025.

Nominations must be made by a person(s) by name (not a group).

The Ross Doyen Memorial Bridge project is starting to wrap up. While the bridge is likely to open sooner we're looking at August 10th for a ribbon cutting.

The UP bridge is now closed to motor vehicle traffic. The iconic family, prom and senior photo location isn't going anywhere though!

Please avoid the area as crews complete the bridge approach.

We did it, again! For the fourth time Cloud County employees won the large employer section of the Kansas Gives Back Challenge. Cloud County Community Suppers (aka Wednesday night suppers) was chose to be the recipient of the $1,000 prize.

Wednesday night suppers are the 1st and 2nd Wednesday of each month and served by drive thru at the armory. Meals are free to the public. Meals are supported by donations, discounts and volunteers.

Volunteers enjoyed a meal following the presentation provided by Wednesday night supper organizer Camey Thurner. Thank you Camey for feeding us and our Community!

Congratulations to Stacie LaBarge for being named July employee of the month for Cloud County. Stacie started working for the County in 2014 as the Election Clerk, she now holds the position of Human Resources / Deputy Election Clerk.
