🔨 Building skills from the ground up! Students in the Conneaut Middle School Home Maintenance class are officially framing their way to success.
The class recently teamed up to construct a brand-new framed wall from scratch. This isn't just a weekend DIY project—this wall will serve as the ultimate hands-on training hub. Over the coming weeks, students will use this exact structure to practice a variety of essential trades, including drywall installation, electrical wiring, and plumbing basics.
By learning how to measure, level, and build the foundation first, these students are gaining practical problem-solving skills and career exposure that will last a lifetime.

Taking shop class outside, our students in the Home Maintenance course at Conneaut Middle School are set up in the fresh air today getting true hands-on carpentry experience. From making accurate crosscuts with the circular saw to dialing in precise angles on the miter saw, these middle schoolers are mastering power tool safety and practical skills right in the open air. Working outside gives them plenty of room to measure, cut, and turn raw lumber into functional projects. Our CMS students are working safely and building real-world skills outside.

Today, students were continuing to learn about, identify, and use various scientific tools using stations in the classroom. They studied observation tools by using hand lenses to sketch coins with close detail and they also used microscopes to observe two different types of plant cells. In addition, students practiced measurement using tools such as stopwatches and graduated cylinders. The class also created illustrations, made 3-D models, and played a matching game about the tools they have been learning about in science class.

At lunch with the principal at Dairy Queen with four outstanding students. These four boys work hard in the classroom and in all of theor extracurricukar activities.
