This will overload already over booked mental health centers.

Unfortunately, after months of dedicated efforts, Anthem was unwilling to make an agreement that would prioritize care for our Medicaid patients and chose to end access to Meridian for Anthem Medicaid patients affective August 25, 2026.

We want to thank all of you who advocated on behalf of Meridian Health Services and most importantly, standing up for nearly 18,000 patients at risk of losing access to their healthcare coverage.

We want to be clear that this decision was communicated to Meridian without cause. Neither Anthem’s termination letter nor meetings with Anthem’s Quality staff, identified concerns related to quality of care, patient outcomes, customer service, performance, Meridian’s reimbursement rate, or any other specific deficiency as a reason for its decision. Anthem communicated that the termination was just a business decision – despite what some Anthem representatives and the Governor’s office have reported.

Meridian continues to pursue legal avenues as we do not recognize Anthem’s termination as legally valid and continues efforts to reverse the decision as we work to keep healthcare local and accessible.

In the meantime, we have been working diligently with our patients assisting in switching managed care entities (MCE) and filling out Continuity of Care forms which has proven successful with many patients being able to continue seeing their Meridian providers.

Please continue to visit www.MeridianHS.org/Anthem for the latest updates including Frequently Asked Questions regarding Meridian Health Services – who we are and what sets up apart, as well as information regarding the August 25, 2026 termination with Anthem Medicaid.

Thank you, again, for your support – the fight continues!

If you are a patient or know someone who is a patient who would like to transition to a new MCE or needs assistance filling out a Continuity of Care form, please call our dedicated call center at 855-634-2439 as we may be able to assist you!
