πŸš‘πŸš‘ For the second time since 0800 this morning (10/22/26) all three Fayette County EMS ambulances are out on calls at the same time. While this is not an uncommon occurrence it does show how busy Fayette County EMS is on a daily basis.

Surprisingly, Thursday ranks as one of the busiest days of the week over the last several years. As of Noon (0800 to Noon, 4 hours) there have been 7 calls for service. To put that into perspective we normally average 11 calls per 24 hour period, so this Thursday is going to be a busy one!

Due to dense fog, the Fayette County School Corporation will operate on a two-hour delay today, Monday, October 12th, 2026.

Fayette County EMS is proud to announce that we have upgraded and expanded our water rescue equipment with the assistance of the Fayette Community Foundation.

This upgrade has been on our list for several years. We have continued to see an increase in the number of calls involving water rescues and the limited equipment we had was manufactured in 1984, and was older than most of our current employees.

We were able to place three personal flotation devices (PFD aka life jackets) of various sizes on each vehicle along with a ResQdisk device.

Thank you to the Fayette Community Foundation for helping us get this goal accomplished.

If you have any information about the individual list please contact the Fayette County Coroners Office.

In emergency services teamwork is the name of the game. This week the Fayette County EMS team was invited to participate in a K9 first aid course that was organized by Connersville Police Department. Officers from both Connersville Police Department and Fayette County Sheriffs Department were there to learn the basics should a police K9 officer be hurt or suffer an acute illness.

Under Indiana law (16-31-13-2) EMS is permitted to treat law enforcement animals IF there are no human patients to care for.

Thank you to Connersville Police Department Assistant Chief Perry for the invitation and to Dr Lisa Booth, DVM with the Kits For K9’s organization for coming out to teach all of us
