🏭 224 NEW JOBS AND NEARLY $150 MILLION IN INVESTMENT COMING TO CATAWBA COUNTY!

Great news for Hickory and Catawba County! US Conec has announced a $149.7 million expansion, bringing 224 new jobs and a new 200,000-square-foot manufacturing facility to our community.

North Carolina Representative Jay Adams welcomed today's announcement:

“We welcome these new jobs and investment to Hickory. We appreciate the diligent work of the state and local officials as well as the economic development professionals that helped the company make this decision.”

This announcement highlights the importance of economic development, manufacturing, and job opportunities right here in Catawba County.

Democracy North Carolina (Democracy NC) describes itself as a nonpartisan organization dedicated to voter education, election protection, and expanding voter participation.

But who is funding its operations?

According to aggregated nonprofit grant records covering approximately 2019–2025, Democracy NC has received millions of dollars from foundations and organizations associated with progressive causes.

NEO Philanthropy — $1.15 million

Imagine North Carolina First — $970,000

Telescope Fund — $950,000

Democracy Fund — $925,000

Democracy NC is also a founding member of Blueprint North Carolina, a coalition involved in progressive advocacy.

Organizations such as Tides Foundation have connections to broader progressive philanthropic networks, including George Soros.

North Carolina voters deserve transparency about the organizations working to influence election policy, voter participation, and political spending.
