🚔FLOCK CAMERA ALERT LEADS TO RECOVERY OF STOLEN VEHICLE AND TWO ARRESTS

On Tuesday, October 6, at approximately 4:00 PM, Officers received a Flock camera alert identifying a stolen U-Haul truck traveling in the area of West Davis Street and West Dallas Street.

Officers quickly located the vehicle traveling eastbound on Davis Street and confirmed through dispatch that it had been reported stolen. A high-risk traffic stop was conducted in the 1300 block of East Davis Street.

The driver, Ryan Woessner, 38, was found to have four outstanding State Jail Felony warrants out of Travis County and was taken into custody.

The passenger, Alyssa Rutledge, 33, became uncooperative during the investigation and was arrested for Interference with Public Duties, a Class A misdemeanor. Following further investigation, Rutledge was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, a second-degree felony.

Thanks to Flock and the quick response of our officers, a stolen vehicle was recovered, and two individuals were taken into custody, including a suspect wanted on multiple felony warrants.

Great work by our officers utilizing available technology to help keep Conroe safe!

Thank you, Conroe! 💙
We would like to thank our community for coming out and making this year’s National Night Out such a great success! We had an incredible turnout and believe it was one of our largest National Night Out events yet.

This event would not be possible without the tremendous support of our community and the sponsors who help make it happen each year.

A special thank you to JCPenney for providing the location for our National Night Out event. We also want to thank EC Entertainment for providing the great music throughout the evening, Fun Jumps - Event Rentals for the inflatable attractions the kids enjoyed, and Sam's Club and H-E-B for providing the delicious food. We also appreciate Coca-Cola and Walmart for providing drinks for our community, Champion Ice for helping us keep everything cold, and Xfinity for their support of the event.

We also want to recognize the City of Conroe Parks and Recreation and City of Conroe Public Works for all of their hard work behind the scenes. Their assistance with setting up the event, taking everything down, and helping with cleanup played a huge part in making the evening a success. We greatly appreciate their continued support and teamwork.

A huge thank you also goes out to all of the volunteers who came out and helped throughout the event. We especially want to recognize the Covenant Christian School Key Club, whose members did an amazing job and were a tremendous help throughout the evening.

National Night Out is also about bringing our community and local first responders together, and we are grateful to all of the agencies that joined us and put on a great display for everyone:
• Conroe Fire Department
• Conroe ISD Police Department
• Texas Department of Public Safety
• Montgomery County Pct. 1 Constable
• Montgomery County Pct. 2 Constable
• Montgomery County Sheriff's Office
• Montgomery County District Attorney's Office
• PHI Air Medical Conroe
• Montgomery County Hospital District

We hope everyone had a great time meeting our local first responders, checking out equipment and vehicles, and enjoying a fun evening with friends, family, and neighbors.

Thank you again to everyone who came out and helped make National Night Out such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year!

🚔 Wanted Suspect Taken into Custody Following Pursuit

During the late morning hours of October 5, an officer with the Conroe Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) observed a black Toyota coupe parked at a gas station near Crockett Martin Road and Highline Blvd. The vehicle was known to be operated by a wanted suspect.

A short time later, the officer observed the vehicle turn from Crockett Martin Road onto Highline Blvd. Using binoculars, the officer confirmed the driver was 26-year-old William Helm, who had active felony warrants.
The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but Helm failed to stop and accelerated to evade the officer, initiating a pursuit.

After identifying a safe location to end the pursuit, the officer conducted a PIT maneuver, causing the suspect vehicle to come to a stop. A high-risk traffic stop was then conducted, and with the assistance of a nearby Montgomery County Precinct 1 Deputy Constable, Helm was taken into custody without further incident.

Helm was arrested for:
• Evading in a Motor Vehicle
• Bell County Felony Theft Warrant
• Montgomery County Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance Warrant

Great work by our CRU officer for bringing the pursuit to a safe conclusion, and thank you to the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Deputy Constable who was nearby and quickly provided assistance.

On the afternoon of Saturday, September 26th, officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of North Loop 336 West involving a male and a female.
A DFR pilot deployed a drone and responded to the area. The drone was first on scene and located the male, who appeared to be yelling at a female. The DFR pilot relayed this information to patrol units as they approached the location.
Upon the arrival of patrol units, the suspect fled from officers, running down an alley and into a laundromat. The DFR pilot observed the suspect’s movements and immediately relayed the information to officers on the ground. The suspect later exited the laundromat and surrendered to officers but was no longer wearing a backpack. Officers located the backpack inside the laundromat, where it had been discarded along with other belongings.
Following the investigation, the suspect, identified as Dauntaerrius Hatchett, 25. He was arrested for felony evading with a previous conviction, possession of a controlled substance, and fraudulent possession of identifying information.
Great work and communication by the DFR pilot, who provided real-time information to officers on the ground, helping them quickly locate and apprehend the suspect.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Today, on the National Day of Remembrance for Murder Victims, we joined the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and families from across our community for a heartfelt remembrance ceremony led by MCSO Lieutenant Paul Hahs.

District Attorney Mike Holley and Chief Jon Bulkholtz shared meaningful remarks as we honored the lives lost and stood alongside the families who carry their memory every day.

Our hearts are with these families today and always.

On the night of September 22, officers responded to a disturbance in the 900 block of South Third St where an assault had occurred.
At the same time, a DFR Drone was already in the air, returning to land after providing overwatch during a traffic stop. The DFR pilot immediately redirected the drone to the disturbance.

Upon arriving in the area, the drone located a white passenger car leaving the scene. The DFR pilot followed the vehicle, providing responding officers with real-time information on its location and direction of travel.
With the assistance of the DFR drone, officers quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Following the investigation, Roberto Orellana, 18, was arrested and charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

This is another example of how Conroe PD’s DFR program enhances officer response by providing valuable real-time aerial information, helping responding officers safely locate the suspect and take him into custody.

All individuals are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
