The US National Weather Service Houston-Galveston Texas is highlighting the potential for periods of heavy rainfall across Southeast Texas late Thursday into Friday.

For the Conroe area, the latest outlook shows the potential for around 2-3 inches of rainfall in a higher-end scenario, with locally higher amounts possible depending on where the heaviest showers and thunderstorms develop.

Please continue to monitor the forecast over the next couple of days, especially if you live or travel through flood-prone areas.

This morning, we held a promotional ceremony for four personnel, new Engine/Operators Michael Genovesi, Ryan Shely, Robert Paben and new Lieutenant Tyler Meyer. We are extremely proud of them and excited for their next journey. Thank you to our team for making this promotional process possible and thank you to the families who sacrificed many months so these men could study and prepare themselves for advancement.

TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD

The City of Conroe is activating its Emergency Operations Center in preparation for Tropical Storm Edouard. City departments will coordinate overnight to monitor conditions and respond to any storm-related impacts.

The primary concern for Conroe and Montgomery County is heavy rainfall and flash flooding overnight and Wednesday morning. Current forecasts indicate:

🌧️ 1–3 inches west of I-45
🌧️ 3–5 inches east of I-45
🌧️ Locally higher amounts of 10-15 inches are possible wherever persistent rain bands develop. The exact location of the heaviest rainfall remains uncertain.

Residents should prepare now:

Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain.
Never drive around barricades or through flooded roads.
Secure outdoor items and clear nearby drains of debris, if safe to do so.

Keep phones charged and enable emergency alerts.
Be prepared to move to higher ground if flooding develops near your location.

TROPICAL STORM EDOUARD UPDATE

A Flood Watch remains in effect for Montgomery County through 7:00 AM Wednesday as Tropical Storm Edouard approaches the Upper Texas Coast.

Rain and thunderstorm coverage will increase today and tonight. Approximately 2–5 inches of rain is expected across the watch area. Very isolated totals of 6–9 inches or more are possible only where heavy storms repeatedly move over the same locations. Most areas are not expected to receive these higher amounts. Localized flooding may still develop along streets, creeks, low-lying areas, and locations with poor drainage.

🚨 WEATHER ALERT: Tropical Depression Five ( ) in the Gulf is forecast to become Tropical Storm Edouard before making landfall in SE Texas/SW Louisiana on Tuesday.

🌧️ Flood Watch in effect for Conroe from 1 AM Tuesday – 7 AM Wednesday. Expect widespread 3–5” of rain (isolated 6–9”), with peak impacts late Tuesday morning through evening.

Intense rainfall rates (3–4"/hr) can cause fast flash flooding.
