🌊🚒 Our Dive Team had a busy Fire Prevention Month, participating in three community outreach events to help educate and engage local students about water rescue operations!

Throughout October, we visited:
📍 Centre Square
📍 Colonial Fire Expo
📍 Radnor

At each event, our divers demonstrated how our specialized equipment works by searching underwater for “sea creatures” that the kids tossed into the pool. It was a fun, hands-on way to showcase the skills and training our Dive Team uses during real-world water rescue incidents.

One of the biggest highlights at both the Colonial Fire Expo and the Radnor event was our communications demonstration. Students had the opportunity to put on a dive mask and speak directly with one of our divers through our underwater communications system, giving them a firsthand look at the technology that helps keep our divers safe and connected.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about water safety and the important work of our Dive Team. We always enjoy sharing what we do with our community and inspiring the next generation of first responders!

Tonight is the night!!

Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 6 pm to 8 pm, the Fire Companies serving Whitemarsh Township, Plymouth Township, and Conshohocken Borough will come together for the Colonial Fire Prevention Expo.

In the parking lots of Victory Fields at the Colonial Elementary School, 5 Fire Companies and dozens of VOLUNTEERS will share all things fire prevention and safety with static displays, live demonstrations, and plenty of giveaways.

Bring your kids, bring your parents, bring the whole family for a night of learning and support!

This week is a great reminder that fire safety starts at home. Taking just a few minutes to test your smoke alarms, practice your family’s escape plan, and identify potential fire hazards can make all the difference in an emergency.

Spring Mill Fire Company No.1 is always working hard—both on the fireground and behind the scenes—to strengthen the level of service we provide to our community.
After months of hard work, planning, and preparation, Spring Mill Fire Company No. 1 is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $523,000 FEMA Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant!
This four-year grant is focused on one of the most important challenges facing the volunteer fire service today: recruiting and retaining firefighters.
The funding will allow Spring Mill Fire Company to invest in several recruitment and retention initiatives, including firefighter staffing incentives, recruitment and marketing programs, new-member protective equipment and physicals, and other efforts designed to attract and retain the next generation of volunteer firefighters.
