Today, we got together with some of our crew and their families for our Fall Family Event. We wanted to celebrate everyone and show our sincere gratitude for everyone’s hard work and support!! Here’s a couple things to remember the next time you’re flying! Keep portable charging devices on the tray table. Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane. If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.

Always place your phone or device on a hard surface to charge it! Laying it on a soft surface or under a pillow, blanket, ect can trap heat and block the needed airflow. This can cause the battery to overheat which could potentially cause other issues as well!

Have you ever picked up your phone, iPad, ect and noticed it was hot? Maybe you noticed a weird smell or maybe you even noticed it was smoking. All these are signs that your devices is no longer safe for use and the damaged battery could potentially start a fire! Safely remove the device from your home and properly dispose of it. Why take the risk with a cheap charger? Devices generally come with a charger from the manufacturer that has been tested for that specific device. Be safe and don’t use after market/cheap chargers!!

Do you have scooters, hoverboards, bikes, large yard equipment, ect that need to be charged?! Never charge these items inside. There is reportedly a 10% annual increase in house fires caused by lithium-ion devices being charged improperly! Take the extra time and make sure you are charging all your devices properly!
