Conway Trees (Conway Tree Board) The City of Conway Tree Board works to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Conway. It was the first year Conway has received this national recognition.

The City of Conway Tree Board was created by the City Council (O-06-26) to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Conway, to protect the health and safety of the residents of Conway, and to protect the environment by providing the development of a Community Forest Management Plan for the regulation of the planting, maintenance, removal, and protection of trees on public property within the City of Conway. In March 2007, The National Arbor Day Foundation named Conway a Tree City USA community to honor its commitment to community forestry. The City of Conway Tree Board meets on the first Monday of each month at Town Hall Square in City Hall (1111 Main St. Conway) at 4:30 p.m. If the first Monday falls on a holiday, the Board will meet the following Monday. All meetings are open to the public.

Please pick your classroom's top winning posters fitting the theme "At Home in the Forest" (5th grade & under) and email your winners our way.

Want to help your trees? Lay down some mulch, but don't let it touch the trunks!

You know what would really make your trees happy right now? Applying a nice 2-4 inch deep layer of mulch under the entire canopy. Mulch helps hold moisture in the soil and keeps roots cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. Just be sure to keep the mulch away from the trunk. Leave at least a few inches between the trunk and the mulch. You can learn more about mulching and other fall gardening tasks at our free presentation, Fall is for Gardening, tonight, at the Conway branch of the Faulkner County Library, September 17, at 5:30 pm.

It's berry picking time!

It's berry picking time!

Visit our blackberry patch behind the library. Feel free to pick what you need!
If the berries come off easily with a gentle tug, they're ready. If they don't want to let go, give them another day or two - unless you like 'em tart :)
Our blackberry patch was made possible by a donation from Conway Trees (Conway Tree Board) with help from the Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service and a kind patron who donated the plants.
