After listening to Amara and the Bats last week, students in Mrs. Stark's class were able to complete a bat STEM project today. Since the project is centered around students being innovative and using what they know to solve a problem, it was difficult for many students not to be told every single step of how to come up with a solution. The freedom to arrive at a solution free of certain restrictions and boundaries and students struggling with that concept shows just how much we need hands-on STEM projects that make students think outside the box. They had to rely on creativity, ingenuity, and prior knowledge. We had so many successful students and it is wonderful that their projects looked different. I loved seeing students make mistakes and then immediately try something new without getting frustrated. Way to go, Mrs. Stark's 2nd graders! 🧠

Update: I'm very sorry to let everyone know that the Kid's Fall Poetry Festival has been cancelled.

Please remember our upcoming Kid's Fall Poetry Festival co-sponsored with the Lebanon-Laclede County Library!! Mark your calendars for October 17th, 12:30 to 3:30, and join us at the Library!! Children 4th grade to 8th grade are welcome and encouraged to attend.
