Tonight, Cooperstown Fire Department provided an engine and forcible entry tools at the Schoharie County Fire Training Center for BEFO. While a bit outside of our normal coverage area, 0211 provided tools and supplemental portable light to the students as they practiced their skills in forceful entry into a structure. This class also counts one of our firefighters, Logan Kantor, as a student, who has been working hard since August learning the basics of firefighting and practicing what he's learned. We're proud of him for the work he's been putting in between class, drills and calls, and we hope you are as well!

Thank you for having us tonight, Schoharie County!

The Cooperstown Fire Department will be sounding our MVA Siren (1 short siren) tomorrow morning at 08:46, 09:03, 09:37, and 10:03. There will be a total of 4 sirens in memory of all who lost their lives that day.

The siren is a call to arms for all first responders. Keep in your hearts the memory of those who ran towards the towers and gave their last full measure of devotion. May the souls of all the victims on that day and since, be remembered and honored as we hear the sirens.

Please help us identify the owner of this boat. She was taking on water and needed to be removed from the docks.

Big Thank You to the Cooperstown Fire Department volunteers for your assistance!

Thursday, June 18th, was a busy day for our volunteers, responding to multiple emergencies throughout the day including fire, rescue, and EMS responses; many of which occurred simultaneously. After a storm system blew through town, our crews worked together with the Cooperstown Police Department, Village of Cooperstown DPW, Otsego County Highway Department, Town of Middlefield Highway Department, NYSEG, Springfield Fire Department, to respond to multiple hazardous situations. Through teamwork and collaboration, we were able to ensure public safety and respond to all calls for assistance throughout the day. Without a dedicated team of volunteers, this wouldn’t be possible. Consider joining your local fire department or emergency response organization to see how you to can help your community.
