There’s always so much happening across the district, and I appreciate every opportunity I get to go out into the community and connect with the incredible people doing incredible things!

I had the opportunity to speak at the Deer Park Drug Prevention Coalition meeting and The Sophia Valsamos Foundation’s Long Island Leaders Luncheon, in support of their work to promote youth mental health and prevent bullying.

I celebrated Pronto Long Island’s 57th Anniversary Gala, recognizing the work they do providing food, clothing, and support to families in need, and joined Adults & Children with Learning & Developmental Disabilities, Inc. (ACLD) at its Enviable Life Ball, celebrating their dedication to helping people with disabilities live fuller, more independent lives.

I also served as a panelist at the AI Interdisciplinary Summit hosted by Suffolk County Legislator Rebecca Sanin, attended the Lindenhurst Youth Football League’s Annual Breast Cancer Ceremony, and spoke at Fashion on the Fairways, hosted by Global Fairways’ to help support their efforts expanding access to golf for women and underserved youth.

My office also celebrated the grand opening of Wh***ey Down Diner in Babylon, heard from minority- and women-owned businesses and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses at a meeting hosted by the Long Island Builders Institute, and recognized the achievements of two local Eagle Scouts.
Thank you to everyone who welcomed us!

This evening I met with a group of Brentwood residents to discuss the ongoing issues and concerns regarding a mulch facility, its recent fires and odors stemming from the facility affecting the quality of life of residents whose homes abut the property. I’m in communication with NYS Department of Conservation. I urge all my colleagues at the state, county and town level, to join me in advocating on behalf of our constituents to discuss next steps. NO ONE should be subjected to breathe bad fumes/odors from unscrupulous business owners. Thank you for having me this evening.

This Fire Prevention Week, let’s make fire safety a priority at home and in our communities. 🔥

Simple steps can prevent devastating fires: use the right charging cables, charge devices on hard surfaces, never charge e-bikes or scooters where they can block exits, and stop using any device that becomes unusually hot, swells, leaks, smokes, or makes popping or hissing sounds.

Thank you to our firefighters and first responders for keeping New Yorkers safe every day. Let’s all do our part to prevent fires and protect the people we love.

As we conclude another week, a few amazing things to highlight which took place across Senate District 4 and Long Island!

We celebrated Long Island’s labor force at IBEW Local 1049’s Annual Celebration of Labor Breakfast, joined the Copiague Memorial Public Library for their Legislative Breakfast, and celebrated local businesses at HIA-LI’s 32nd Annual Business Distinction Awards.

We also recognized Suffolk County’s bravest at the Fire Academy’s Medal of Valor Day, celebrated CaringKind’s Grand Opening, attended the Long Island Contractors’ Association Legislative Breakfast, and joined the Hauppauge Volunteer Fire Department for its Annual Fire Prevention Open House.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us this week. It’s always a pleasure connecting with the people and organizations that make our communities stronger!

This month, we stand with breast cancer survivors, patients, caregivers, families, and everyone whose lives have been touched by this disease. We also take this opportunity to raise awareness about prevention, early detection, and knowing the signs.

According to the National Cancer Institute, steps that may help lower breast cancer risk include maintaining a healthy weight, staying physically active, and reducing or eliminating alcohol consumption.

It is also important to know the signs. Talk with your healthcare provider if you notice a new lump or thickening in the breast or underarm, a change in breast size or shape, ni**le discharge or changes, or skin changes such as redness, swelling, dimpling, puckering, or scaling. Early breast cancer often has no symptoms, which is why recommended screening is so important.

Let’s continue to educate, encourage one another to prioritize our health, and support the fight against breast cancer. 💗

I am proud of legislation I have sponsored and signed into law allowing insurance companies to cover mammograms for women ages 35-39 if medically necessary instead of waiting for coverage at age 40. Early detection is key. Get Checked!

🚨🚨Unfortunately, due to the nor’easter expected to impact Long Island this weekend, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule the Children’s Snapper Derby scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, September 27 at Captree State Park.

With strong winds💨, heavy rain 🌧️ , and hazardous coastal conditions expected, the safety of everyone involved comes first.

We know you and your children have been looking forward to this event, especially after it was previously rescheduled due to last week’s rain, and we share your disappointment. But don't fret, we’re not letting the weather off the hook just yet! We’re hoping we’ll finally see you at the Derby on Sunday, October 4, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at:

Pier behind the Bait & Tackle Shop
Captree State Park
3500 East Ocean Parkway
Babylon, NY 11757

All registrations will remain valid for the new date. If you are no longer able to attend, please let us know so we can offer your spot to another participant.

Please stay safe this weekend, and thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate another weather related schedule change. We’re hoping the third time is a charm, with calmer seas, sunnier skies☀️, and plenty of snappers 🎣next weekend!

Stay safe!

As the nor’easter approaches, please take time today to prepare. Charge your devices, gather what you need if the power goes out, and check in on neighbors who may need a hand.

Heavy rain and strong winds could bring down trees and power lines. Stay away from downed wires, never drive through flooded roads, and use extra caution when traveling.

Swipe through for safety tips and local resources. Stay safe this weekend!
