🚧 TRAFFIC ALERT: LANE CLOSURES SCHEDULED ON U.S. 25W IN CORBIN

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of scheduled lane closures on U.S. 25W in Corbin on Monday, October 19, and Tuesday, October 20, as contractors perform bridge work on the I-75 overpass.

📍 Location: U.S. 25W at mile point 29.62

📅 Dates: Monday, Oct. 19 – Tuesday, Oct. 20

⏰ Time: 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. each day

During the scheduled work, U.S. 25W will be reduced to one lane in each direction.
Motorists should anticipate possible delays, use caution when traveling through the work zone and remain alert for construction personnel and equipment.
All work is subject to weather conditions.

PRELIMINARY INFORMATION – MURDER INVESTIGATION

The Corbin Police Department is currently investigating a murder that occurred at a business parking lot in North Corbin.

Preliminary information indicates that a male subject suffered a fatal gunshot wound during the early morning hours of October 18, 2026.

The victim has been identified as Dustin Deaton, age 28, of Barbourville, Kentucky.

Detective Robbie Hodge is continuing the investigation. Assisting at the scene were Patrolman First Class Brentley Patrick, Patrolman Jonas Saunders, Corbin Fire Department, Knox County EMS, Kentucky State Police, and the Knox County Coroner’s Office.

The Corbin Police Department offers its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. Deaton during this difficult time.

This is an active investigation, and additional information will be released as it becomes available and as the investigation allows.
