🐾 Canine Training Day! 🐾

A rainy start to the morning turned into a warm and humid day, but our pups didn’t let the weather slow them down! 🌧️🐕‍🦺☀️

The team put in some great work today, and every dog did a fantastic job. We even had a little extra excitement on the carriage trails with several horse-drawn carriages passing by! 🐎

Another productive day of training, learning, and building the skills our K9 teams need when the call comes. ❤️

Yesterday, two of our DELMARVA Search & Rescue members and their four-legged partners had the honor of attending a 9/11 Patriot Day remembrance event in their community in Lewes, Delaware.

The event was held in memory of their neighbor’s son, Mark, an FDNY firefighter, and all those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

We remember Mark and the countless others who made the ultimate sacrifice that day. We also honor the first responders, military members, and their families who continue to stand ready to serve and protect when others need them most.

🐾 Another great day of K9 training! 🐾

Beautiful (and hot) weather, great teammates, happy dogs, and plenty of good work today! Our canine team put in the miles, worked through some challenging scenarios, and continued building the skills we rely on when the call comes in.

Here’s a look at some of today’s training! 📸

It was a great evening at the Georgetown Police Department's National Night Out! We had a wonderful time meeting members of our community, talking about search and rescue, and answering questions about what we do.

Our K9s were the real stars of the night, getting lots of pets, smiles, and attention! 🐾

Thank you to the Georgetown Police Department for inviting us, and to everyone who stopped by to say hello. We always enjoy sharing our mission with the community!

Searches don't wait for daylight. We can be called out as the sun is setting, in the middle of the night, or in the early morning hours.

That's why it's so important for both our K9s and handlers to train in the dark. Working at night presents unique challenges, from limited visibility to navigating difficult terrain, and the only way to be prepared is to practice in those conditions.

Every training helps build confidence, improve communication between handler and K9, and ensures we're ready to respond no matter what time the call comes.

Yesterday, a couple of our K9s had the opportunity to spend the day with the Critter Campers at the Brandywine SPCA in Georgetown!

Dolce and Luca helped introduce the campers to the world of Search and Rescue, sharing what our K9 teams do to help locate missing people. The campers even got to watch Dolce put her nose to work during a live demonstration as she searched for one of the counselors—she didn't disappoint! 🐾

Meanwhile, Luca took on the very important job of soaking up all the love and pets from everyone. ❤️
