I hope everyone is having a fantastic day. I wanted to post this on our page. On our website we have a new addition. On the website there is a video now that two of our board members made, Aaron Foster and Terry Smith. Thanks to both of you for making this video. I wanted to let everyone know as well that we no longer have a pool. The pool was so old that there were cracks in it beyond repair. I mentioned that I would like to fill it in and within a week a donor was up here with a bulldozer, bulldozing the pool in. The boys house was helping them take the fence down.

Wow! When we post a need for Pine Vale we get a lot of responses. I posted back on September 15th that there was a deck that needed replacing. Well, we had a great number of responses. The Middleton church of Christ stepped up and took care of everything. The Middleton congregation has supported the work at Pine Vale for years. This time they went over and above supporting us. Thank you to Middleton church of Christ, we love you!!

Saturday in the midst of the rain we got (and we were so thankful to get it) we finished the flowers out at the gazebo. Here are some pictures from then. I have to say everyone worked really hard. I am thankful for the staff and the children that we have here.

We need your help! Each of our houses have wood decks off the back of them that people have built for us through the years. The Wade Cottage (which is the oldest house on campus) has a deck on it that is truly falling in. It cannot be used. The house parents said they would really like to have dinner in the evenings with the boys out there, but they just cannot because it is unsafe. If there are any individuals or congregations that would like a project to do, we could use your help.

Around the gazebo has seemed unfinished. So the children and staff are working to make it look finished. I am so thankful for the staff I work with here. They are always trying to make the campus more beautiful for the children and staff. We all want a beautiful place to live and work.

Here is the information we have received about Patricia’s visitation.

No funeral service. Visitation gathering for family and friends Saturday at Strickland church of Christ from 11:00 till 1:00. Meal for family at 1:00. No flowers. Please send donations to Pine Vale Children’s Home in Patricia’s memory instead.

It is with sadness in our hearts that we write this post. Over the years many people who have called us have been answered by a cheerful voice from Patricia Dillingham. In February she got really sick. She never really recovered. Patricia passed away this morning at 4:27 AM. Please, keep Patricia’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time of grief and loss. Patricia will be sorely missed. She was truly a sweet lady who would do anything for anyone.
