🚔EXCITING NEWS FOR THE CITY OF CORNELIA! 🚔

The Cornelia Police Department is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $30,358.68 High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) Grant through the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS)!

This grant will allow our department to increase traffic enforcement efforts throughout the City of Cornelia, focusing on four important areas:

🚙 Occupant Protection – Making sure drivers and passengers are buckled up and children are properly secured.

📱 Distracted Driving – Encouraging drivers to put their phones down and keep their attention on the road.

🚨 Speeding – Reducing dangerous speeds and encouraging motorists to obey posted speed limits.

🚫🍺 Impaired Driving (DUI) – Keeping impaired drivers off our roadways.

Our goal ISN'T to write citations. Our goal is to change dangerous driving behaviors, prevent crashes, reduce injuries, and SAVE LIVES!

Through this grant, our officers will be conducting additional traffic enforcement throughout the city to help make our roadways safer for everyone.

We would like to thank the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety for its continued support and commitment to highway safety.

Whether you live in Cornelia, work here, or are just passing through, we want everyone to make it home safely.

Buckle Up. Phone Down. Slow Down. Drive Sober.

🚔 Cornelia Police Department

Committed to Keeping Our Roadways Safe.
