1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a program for children ages 0 to five years old, before they enter kindergarten.

Our goal is for you to read 1,000 books to your child to help them build early literacy skills and a love for reading!

Register at any Corpus Christi Public Library location with your library card. Your child will receive their first reading journal to track books #1–100.

Read books to your child and record the titles in your journal. Repeating books is okay.

Turn in a completed reading journal at any library to get the next one and a brag tag!

Finish all 10 journals to earn a special prize at our celebration.

If you sign your child up for a library card & the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the same time, they can get a special library card design! See library for details.
