CASA of the Coastal Bend CASA of the Coastal Bend’s mission is to advocate for the best interest of children in Nueces and Aransas County foster care. Who am I? I am YOU! A Child’s Life.

A CASA volunteer is a consistent presence in a child’s life during the process of the case. I am for the child who has been taken away from his parents for his own safety. I am for the child who is in her fifth, sixth, or seventh foster home. I am for the child who has never been told he is loved, or smart, or strong. I am for the child who believes in her heart that no one cares. Lift a Childs Voice. STAND UP FOR A CHILD TODAY! Virtual CASA training sessions will be offered via Zoom. Please ensure you can complete:

10 Hours of Zoom Training- Must Utilize Video
10 Hours of Pre-Work
10 Hours Homework/Review / Collaborative Family Engagement
3 Hours of Court Room Observation via Zoom

The first step in becoming a CASA volunteer is to attend an upcoming Virtual Info Session held every Wednesday at noon via Zoom.

❤️💙 It’s all coming together!

We’re just two weeks away from The Child’s Table – Seats of Hope, our inaugural fundraising and educational luncheon, and we’re busy putting the finishing touches on a very special afternoon!

But why The Child’s Table?

We all know the idea of the kids’ table. It’s where children sit while the adults have the important conversations. But for children in foster care, life-changing decisions are often made at tables where they don’t even have a seat.

That’s where CASA steps in, making sure their voices are heard and their best interests are protected.

We’re incredibly grateful to share that every table has sold out! Our community has shown up in such a big way, and we can’t wait to gather on October 29 at the Hilliard Center to share the heart of CASA’s mission.

Meet Allen the Advocacy Donkey! 🫏❤️

We may be a little biased, but we think he’s the cutest donkey around! Our CASA team poured so much love and creativity into bringing Allen to life, and we couldn’t love him more!

Allen is proudly representing CASA of the Coastal Bend in the 2026 Parade of Piñatas Silent Auction, hosted by CBAR’s DE&I Committee, benefiting K Space Contemporary!

CASA is honored to be a part of this amazing parade......

The Coastal Bend Association of REALTORS® DE&I Committee is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Parade of Piñatas at La Palmera Mall benefiting the Dia De Los Mu***os Festival! This year, our participants are putting their creativity to the test with the theme: ⚡SUPER HEROES UNITE!⚡
Come see an incredible collection of one-of-a-kind piñatas created by local businesses, organizations, schools, artists, and community groups. From caped crusaders and everyday heroes to completely original creations, you never know who—or WHAT—you might see!
🪅 COME SEE THE PARADE
The completed piñatas will be on display at La Palmera Mall October 13th - October 25th, giving the community a chance to admire the creativity and craftsmanship that went into each entry.
🏆 VOTE FOR PEOPLE’S CHOICE!

Your vote does more than help crown a winner—it also helps support the Día de los Mu***os Festival and the organizations that make this beloved Corpus Christi tradition possible.

Following the display, the piñatas will be part of a silent auction, giving you a chance to take home one of these unique creations while supporting a great community cause.
Last year, more than 1,500 votes were cast for the People’s Choice Award, and the Parade of Piñatas helped raise $1,500 for the Día de los Mu***os Festival! This year, we’re ready to make an even bigger impact.

We had a great time at the 2026 Annual State Employee Charitable Campaign Pizza-Rama Event, hosted by Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi on October 7. 🍕💙

From pizza and dunk tanks to a petting zoo and some fun fundraising activities, it was a wonderful day of bringing the community together for a good cause.

We’re grateful to have been one of the participating nonprofits and enjoyed connecting with students and staff while sharing CASA’s mission.

Thanks to generous Matching Funders, $1.7 million in matching funds is available across the campaign, with up to $27,000 available for each participating nonprofit.

For CASA of the Coastal Bend, that additional support means more resources to recruit, train and support volunteer advocates who give children in foster care a consistent voice and someone in their corner. ❤️ Help us get there!

Over the past few months, we’ve loved hosting Coffee with Clarissa, an open invitation for our CASA volunteers, those interested in volunteering, and anyone in our community to stop by, grab a free cup of coffee and ask questions.
