We all remember being asked that daunting question: “What do you want to do after high school?” And let’s be honest, many of us had no clue, or our answers changed more times than we can count! We’ve all been there! ❤️

That’s why we love giving students opportunities to explore their options and discover what feels right for them (and sometimes, what doesn’t!). Lately, students have been visiting local college campuses to get a firsthand look at what each school has to offer and explore the possibilities for their future! 🎓 That way, the next time someone asks about their plans after graduation, students can answer with confidence, knowing they’ve explored their options and made an informed decision! 🎓❤️

Yesterday, our Framing and Finishing students visited the Central Midwest Carpenters training facility! 🛠️ They enjoyed a guided tour, asked questions, and learned about the many post-secondary opportunities available through the Carpenters Union. We love seeing our students explore career pathways and discover new opportunities for their futures! ❤️

As the leaves begin to change, one thing remains the same: the hard work and perseverance of our incredible students! 🍂 From wrapping up a great fall sports season to exploring local pumpkin patches, connecting with local businesses, and representing their schools at Rotary, our students continue to make us proud both inside and outside the classroom. And, of course, we’re always excited to celebrate their academic achievements along the way! ❤️ That wraps up another safe, supportive, and successful week at South Harrison!👏

Students continue to get College and Career Ready across the district! Check out what our students have been up to below! 👇

👀 West Baden Springs Hotel Tour 🛎️
Marketing Pathway students recently got a behind-the-scenes look at the marketing industry with professionals from the Marketing Department at West Baden Springs Hotel. Students had the opportunity to learn more about the field and gain valuable insight from industry experts!

⚙️ Manufacturing Day ⛏️
CCR students attended Manufacturing Day at Lucas Oil, where they toured the facility and learned more about the manufacturing industry firsthand from local experts!

🎓 College App Day 💻
Seniors throughout the district attended College App Day! Fourteen college representatives were on hand to connect with seniors, share more about the opportunities their campuses have to offer, and help students navigate the college admissions process. Several students were even able to apply to college and have their application fees waived in the process! 🎉

We love seeing our students explore their options, connect with professionals, and take the next steps toward their futures! ❤️

Third graders from across South Harrison recently attended Agriculture Day at the Harrison County Fairgrounds! 🌾

Students explored interactive stations throughout the day, learning all about livestock, crops, diesel mechanics, and so much more. 🧠🐮🌽🚜

Additionally, FFA students from SCJSHS and CCHS presented on chick embryology, sharing their knowledge about chick fertilization and development with the younger students! 🐣🐔

What a special opportunity for our students to learn from each other and share their knowledge with one another! ❤️

Happy World Teachers' Day to all of our incredible teachers across South Harrison! 📚🍎

Our teachers are truly what make SHCSC such a special place. They go above and beyond for their students every single day. From furthering their own education to create even more opportunities for students, to discovering new and creative ways to make learning fun, to spending their evenings coaching, tutoring, or leading an after-school club. They work tirelessly to give their students their very best, both inside and outside the classroom.

South Harrison's educators are passionate, hardworking, devoted, and determined to provide every student with the best education possible. Their dedication and commitment make a lasting impact on our students and our entire community.

There's lots of learning and fun happening around our district! 👀🎉

We’ve had a busy few weeks, and our students have been making the most of some great opportunities outside the classroom!

🎓 SCES 5th and 6th graders toured Indiana University Southeast and got a firsthand look at college and campus life. What a great way to start thinking about their future!

🌲 HWES students had a visit from Woods on Wheels! They explored the mobile exhibit and learned all about Indiana’s forests, trees, and native wildlife. 🌳🦌

🎃 NMES students got into the fall spirit with a trip to Huber’s where they enjoyed checking out the pumpkin patch! 🍂

🌾 FFA students from South Central High School and Corydon Central High School helped make Agriculture Day at the fairgrounds a success! They led different stations and shared their knowledge with students throughout the day.

We love seeing our students learning, exploring, and having fun in our community! 📚
