Cotter is getting ready to shine — and we need volunteers!

The City of Cotter, Cotter Area Chamber of Commerce, Cotter Volunteer Fire Department & Auxiliary, and the Saturday Club of Cotter are teaming up to bring holiday magic to our river city.

Join us as we prepare lights, decorations, and all the festive touches that make Cotter sparkle:

• Thursday, October 15th — 9:00 AM (Cotter Fire Dept.)

For more information, contact our Lead Elf, Linda, via text at 352‑346‑0396.

Can’t make it this time? No worries — more volunteer opportunities are coming soon!

And while you’re thinking festive, consider donating your favorite holiday cookies for the big Christmas in Cotter event on Saturday, December 19th at 5 PM.

Let’s make Cotter glow brighter than ever.

Announcement from the Arkansas Department of Transportation

I wanted to make everyone aware that a contractor is scheduled to begin work at the intersection of Hwy. 62 and Hwy. 62B in Cotter (Baxter County) within the next week, weather permitting. The current plan is to begin work on Thursday morning; however, the weather may affect the schedule as the friction application is temperature and moisture sensitive. We could certainly use the rain for other reasons, so we will happily work with Mother Nature and adjust as needed. Appropriate traffic control measures will be in place throughout the work, which is anticipated to take approximately five working days. Given my familiarity with this intersection and the traffic conditions in the area, I wanted to reach out in advance to ensure everyone is aware of the upcoming work and safety improvements being performed and to allow for any necessary traffic coordination.

Thank you,
Resident Engineer RE #95
Arkansas Department of Transportation
