Five years ago today, we lost our brother, Firefighter Tyrone Bell. 🤍
Today and EVERY day, we honor and remember our brother. Tyrone’s laugh was as sly as his smile, and his humbleness was as genuine as his heart. He left a lasting impact on those who knew and loved him, and he will forever be a part of our fire family.
Please take a moment today to remember Tyrone and keep his family and loved ones in your thoughts as they continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
We miss you, brother. You will never be forgotten.

The Verde Valley Fire District Administrative Office is closed today, Monday, October 12, 2026, in observance of Columbus Day.
Columbus Day commemorates Christopher Columbus’s arrival in the Americas in 1492. The day is also an opportunity to reflect on the history of exploration and the lasting impact of European arrival on Indigenous peoples and communities.
Normal business hours will resume tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
Emergency services will remain fully operational and available to serve our community 24/7.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired Verde Valley Fire District Captain Mark Dixon.

Captain Dixon proudly served the Verde Valley Fire District from August 1, 1989, through July 31, 2017, dedicating 28 years of his life to the fire service and the community. His years of service reflect a lasting commitment to helping others and protecting the people of the Verde Valley.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and former colleagues during this difficult time. He will be remembered as part of the Verde Valley Fire District family, and his years of service will not be forgotten.

Rest in peace, Captain Dixon. You will be deeply missed.

FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch for northern and central Arizona until Tuesday, 09/29/2026.

Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms may bring heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding, especially in creeks, normally dry washes, swimming holes and recently burned areas.

Please stay weather aware, have a way to receive Flash Flood Warnings, and be prepared to take action if a warning is issued. Never drive through flooded roadways.
