The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch that is in effect until tomorrow, Oct 2nd at 7 PM for La Salle and Surrounding Counties. La Salle County is expected to receive 3 - 4 inches of rain between this afternoon thru tomorrow evening.
Excessive rainfall could result in flooding of creeks, streams, low-lying areas, flood-prone roadways, and areas with poor drainage.
⚠️ Use the following tips to stay safe and aware during potential serious weather
- Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings.
- Avoid low-water crossings and flood-prone roadways.
- Never drive through flooded roads — Turn Around, Don’t Drown!
- Do not drive around barricades.
- Be especially cautious after dark, when flooded roadways can be difficult to see.
- Be prepared to take action quickly if a Flash Flood Warning is issued.
- Keep children and pets away from drainage areas, creeks, and moving water.
A Flood Watch means flooding is possible, and conditions can change quickly.
We will continue monitoring weather conditions and post as we learn any updates.
Please use caution, stay informed, and do not take unnecessary risks around floodwater.
Stay Weather Aware. Stay Prepared. Stay Safe.
