Very thankful for the family and store!

Naifeh’s has served Covington for more than a century. 5 generations later, the family is still behind the store.

Naifeh’s story began in 1910, when Joseph S. Naifeh arrived in Covington and opened a small grocery store on the town square. Known locally as “Uncle Joe,” he built the business around personal service and strong relationships with customers.

His son Oney later took over and helped modernize grocery shopping in Covington, introducing features like an in-store meat market and shopping carts. Over the decades, the family expanded, adapted to changing times, and kept the business rooted in the same community.

That tradition continued through Joe, then Judson, and in 2024, a fifth generation joined the family business. More than 100 years after it began, Naifeh’s is still carrying forward the same focus on customer service, community, and treating shoppers like neighbors.

✨ Do you remember shopping at Naifeh’s, or another family-owned grocery store where everyone seemed to know your name?

The Little Details Matter!
Making Covington Better!
Over the past years some how some where the ball got dropped. One Department had been taking care of the Fire Hydrants and it was thought that another Department would take that responsibility over. This small thing has been resolved and over the next 5 years all the Fire Hydrant that the City of Covington Tennessee is responsible for will be painted and pressure tested. A system has been put in place to do 1/5 of these each year from then on.
Each color represents a different gallon per minute. They are color coded so the Emergency Services can easily identify them and the correct one to use in an emergency.
