From the moment she learned to read, Tori knew books were going to be a huge part of her life. Reading was where she could escape the monotony of the day, find adventures, and travel to different places, all in the pages of a book. 💚

Mark your calendars for BOO-K Bash, our Halloween Family Reading Night, on Thursday, October 22, from 6 to 7 pm in the AHRL Community Room!

We’ll have stories, snacks, and a fun craft for the kids, and costumes are encouraged but not required. No registration is needed, so just bring the family, and please remember that children must be accompanied by an adult.

Calling all young writers and artists! The VFW Essay and Art Contest is open, and there are cash prizes up for grabs.

Students in grades 6 through 8 can enter the Patriot’s Pen essay contest. This year’s theme is “What a Veteran Taught Me About America,” and essays are due October 31. Students in kindergarten through 8th grade can also enter the art contest, which is due December 15.

Stop by the library and pick up an information sheet with everything you need to get started. ✏️🎨🇺🇸

Wendy’s library story began when she was 14, working her first job as a library page. Now she’s back in the library, and she says this will be her “end-all job.” Talk about coming full circle. 💚
