🔥 Academy 191: Forged Through the Fire 🔥

This past week, Academy 191 took another major step forward as the demands of training continued to intensify. Recruits faced one of the most challenging aspects of the fire service: firefighter survival and search-and-rescue operations. These are critical skills that can make the difference between life and death on the fireground.

Each evolution tested their limits, challenged their instincts, and reinforced the importance of discipline, teamwork, and trust. Through every challenge, they continued building the confidence and capabilities needed to protect their communities and, just as importantly, the firefighters standing beside them.

The road ahead won't get any easier, but Academy 191 continues to rise to the challenge, one evolution at a time.

Stronger together. Ready for what's next. 💪🚒

We are very excited and only a month away from final inspection. We will send (2) to the plant to do a final inspection before we accept delivery. Once delivered, we will invite everyone to the Fire Station and come check it out. 🚒

🔥 FETA Recruit Academy 191 | Halfway There! 🔥

FETA Recruit Academy 191 has officially reached the halfway point of the 16-week academy, and the recruits continue to be challenged with hands-on training designed to prepare them for the realities of the fire service.

This week, recruits trained in:

🚒 Vehicle Extrication: Learning the skills and techniques needed to safely rescue victims trapped in wrecked vehicles.

🏠 Roof Ventilation: Training on the proper techniques for opening a roof to support fireground operations and improve conditions inside a structure.

🪢 Ropes & Knots: Developing essential rope skills used in rescue operations and other challenging fireground situations.

Next week, the recruits will face one of their most challenging training weeks yet: Search Week. They will put their skills, communication, teamwork, and determination to the test as they conduct victim searches, including searches while blindfolded to simulate the limited visibility firefighters may encounter in a structure fire.

Sixteen weeks. One goal. Preparing the next generation of firefighters to serve their communities.

🔥 Academy 191 is halfway there. The challenge continues!

🙏🏼🙏🏼 Keep St. Tammany Fire District #12 in your thoughts and prayers. Tough day for our brothers and sisters.

Today we honor the life and service of Captain Ricky Payne.
Visitation for Captain Payne will be at First Baptist of Covington from 11-1 today.
We will then have a procession that will leave First Baptist around 1:10. The route of the procession is below. Once we get to the fire station at Hwy 21 & 36 we will proceed back to First Baptist on the same route.
WE WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO LINE THE ROUTE IN FRONT THEIR BUSINESS TO PAY RESPECTS FOR CAPTAIN PAYNES NEARLY 25 YEARS OF SERVICE.
We would also like to ask for your patience as the Covington Police Department, City of Covington Fire Department, and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office assist with road closures and traffic control along the route to ensure a safe and honorable procession.
Once we are back at the church there will be a service for 2:00.
We ask for prayers of strength and healing today for our members and for Ricky’s family.

🚒 Recruit Academy 191 is putting in the work to become top-notch firefighters!

This week, our recruits sharpened their skills in ventilation, fire suppression, and hose handling. They also recently experienced a flashover evolution, giving them valuable firsthand experience with the intense conditions firefighters can face on the fireground.

Academy 191 is not quite halfway through their journey, but they are making progress every week. With each new skill they learn and every challenge they overcome, they are one step closer to becoming the firefighters our community can count on.

Keep pushing, 191! 🔥🚒
