It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Friday Five!

This week, we're coming to you from inside the Covington Sportsplex! We've got some exciting updates, including the opening of youth basketball registration, the Aquatic Center officially switching to winter mode, and another Sound Bath coming up next Thursday!

We're also highlighting some of the fitness opportunities available at the Sportsplex and checking in on fall sports as we get closer to volleyball season!

Whether you're looking to get active, try something new, or just keep up with what's happening around our parks and facilities, there's something for everyone!

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Friday Five!

This week, we're doing things a little differently! We brought Buckie along to give you a behind-the-scenes look at what goes into getting our ball fields ready for game day - and let's just say he stole the show!

From dragging and raking to chalking and painting, Buckie walks us through the details that help make our fields game-ready. You'll even learn a thing or two about the measurements of batter's boxes and pitcher's circles!

Now, did we actually give you five things this week? Maybe. Could've been 2. Could've been 16. We lost count somewhere along the way, but Buckie had the floor, and we weren't about to interrupt him!

The 2026 Covington Christmas Parade is officially open for registration!

Registration is open until December 1, 2026.

Bring your business, organization, church, school, sports team or group of friends and join in the fun. Help us make this year just as memorable as years past!

Not planning to participate? Mark your calendar and gather your family and friends to line Main Street on Monday, December 7th. Enjoy the floats, lights, music and of course, the big man himself, SANTA!
