September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month, a time to bring attention to a topic that touches nearly every community, whether or not it's openly discussed. This month, we'll focus on su***de prevention: recognizing warning signs, understanding risk factors, and knowing how to respond when someone is struggling. Su***de is preventable, and awareness plays a real role in that prevention, whether it's a friend checking in, a coworker noticing a change, or a community investing in accessible mental health resources. Our goal is to equip people with practical knowledge and reduce the silence that often surrounds this topic, so more people feel comfortable reaching out for help or offering it to someone else.

ALERT: Moffat County Public Health has received a manufacturer field corrective action notice regarding certain Medline pregnancy tests. The manufacturer has not recalled the products and has not instructed users to dispose of them. The notice clarifies that the tests may occasionally produce false-positive results in some non-pregnant individuals due to detection of very low levels of hCG. Individuals with positive or unexpected results should consult a healthcare provider for confirmatory testing.
