I am thankful and honored for the opportunity to serve on a panel with leaders from the Carolina Thread Trail, Gaston County Travel and Tourism and The Catawba Riverkeeper discussing the transformational vision in Gaston County from textiles to trails at the Carolina Thread Trail Trail Forum. Cramerton is so blessed to have an amazing partner in the Carolina Thread Trail.

Today is the day we welcome the Wootens home to Cramerton! Chris Wooten and Sharon Sever Wooten are both heroes for all they have given for our State and our community, and this is a special moment for Cramerton as we get to show them how loved they are!
Yesterday was a day of extremes for me personally and for Cramerton as a community. I am so proud that our Town turned out in record numbers to participate in the great American freedom of voting for our local leaders. While I am disappointed that I will not have the opportunity to continue serving you as Mayor, I have been so blessed to serve you for the past twelve years. I want to thank all our amazing supporters, friends and family for all you have done during this trying campaign season. I also want to thank my beautiful, strong, passionate wife Wendy Wagner Cauthen for her dedication and determination to do all she can for Cramerton. There are so many people I want to thank that I cannot possibly do it justice in this post. I hope you all will pray for those newly elected leaders and show patience and grace as they learn their new roles. We in Cramerton are truly "So Blessed."

Tomorrow is the big day and we are looking forward to seeing everyone at the polls! Voting opens promptly at 6:30 am and ends at 7:30 pm at the First Baptist Church of Cramerton, 235 Eighth Avenue. If you have already early voted, come hang out with us. There is so much fun, excitement and fellowship at the polls and we would love to share that with you! We do want to take a moment to thank everyone that has reached out to us, supported us, shown us kindness and love over the last few months. Campaigning is an exciting, yet stressful, time and you all have made it so much easier and we are incredibly appreciative. Your positivity throughout this time is a shining example of the loving and caring community we call home. I also want to thank the other candidates that took the time and effort to run for office. We all have the best interest of Cramerton in mind and your willingness to serve is commendable.
Setting the record straight.
We are so proud of our town's public art.

Here's the Appendix A from the South Fork River Health Committee Action Plan that lists all the people who are engaged in working to make our River healthier and more resilient. I founded this committee to make certain that we all have a strong voice when we ask the State and the Federal Government for assistance in mitigating the frequency and severity of flooding and improving the sustainability of our greatest natural resource.

As YOUR mayor, I have worked hard to build strong relationships with leaders on a local, county, state and national level. It is these existing relationships that will help us improve the quality of life for our residents and move forward as a prospering Town. I will continue to diligently work with these partners on YOUR behalf, including collaborating with the Gaston County School Board on improved safety for our students, the County and State on infrastructure concerns and all of our many partners on the South Fork River Health Committee to improve the health of our river and reduce flooding.
