BIRDS‼️ Have been reported trapped inside the eye of Hurricane Isaias! Hurricane hunters reported a White Egret within the eye around 9,400 feet. What appears to be numerous birds detected on Doppler Radar as the eye of Hurricane Isaias approaches Florida!

It’s been documented, especially in strong hurricanes that birds can travel and be displaced hundreds, if not thousands of miles in the eye of a hurricane.

It’s always a fantastic day when I get to see a secretive marsh bird at the Burn! This Sora flew up right in front of me and landed on the Equisetum, and I was more than happy to snap a photo!

I love seeing birds like this taking advantage of the habitat at the Lye Creek Prairie Burn. This is exactly what this place is all about!
